Vote for Donald

My Platform
I am seeking this position because I have a deep concern for the fifth district and the State of California.
As I look around me I have witnessed scores of individuals who have lost their jobs, their homes, their businesses and even their vehicles because of the awful economy. As a result many have lost their self-worth and their motivation to go on. This should not be happening in the greatest State in our nation, California, which by far out numbers the population of the other 49 States.
Some drastic changes need to be made in our system because it is severely broken and needs to be fixed quickly so that people can once again experience prosperity and feel good about themselves and their government.
I want to help bring about these necessary changes in our State, and I would appreciate your support. If you wish to help in my campaign or contribute financially, I would be grateful. Also, your comments and suggestions are welcome. You can contact me by phone at (916) 284-7309 or by email: dthompst@comcast.net.
I want to make a difference. What about you?
My Goals
To reduce taxes, thus putting more money back into the pocket books of families and individuals
To protect proposition 13 in order to keep property taxes affordable.
To help create jobs so that individuals can earn a decent living and thus help jump start the economy.
To help families and individuals stay in their homes.
To help small businesses survive and thrive in California.
To crack down on identity thieves by giving them stiffer sentences.
To promote adequate police protection in our communities
To keep violent offenders in prison, serving out the time in which they were originally sentenced.
To provide quality education for our children without raising taxes.
To promote strong family values.
To balance the State budget in a reasonable time thus alleviating stress of citizens who are dependent on State funds.

Vote for Donald

Many of you are fed up with the political system in California, and you want new blood in the legislature. A number of you have personally asked me if I am a professional politician because you do not wish to cast your vote for such a person. I can assure you that I am not a professional politician, and that is the reason why I am a candidate for fifth district assembly. I want to see some drastic changes in our system because it is severly broken and needs immediate attention. Professional politicians have dragged their feet, looking out only for their own advancement and not yours. If I am elected to the legislature I will put you first, and myself last. I will help create new jobs, help you keep your home, your small business and your vehicle. It is time to throw out the old and bring in the new. The old guard has failed us, and they must be swept out the door. I truly care about you, and that is why I am a candidate. I would appreciate your feedback.

Helping Small Businesses to Survive

Small businesses were once the heartthrob of America, but now they are vainishing, especially in California. Heavy state regulations have contributed to the collapse of our businesses. Many that have survived have moved to other states, where taxes and restrictions are not so dominant. Why has the legislature placed such a heavy burden open small businesses? I believe it is because of overspending, and small businesses have had to shoulder a huge share of the burden of overspending. We must do everything to help small businesses survive and thrive in California. If elect to the legislature I will work hard to help small business owners. Cutting state spending is a step in the right direction. By doing this we could very well give small business owners tax incentives so that they may keep their doors open.

Highly Paid Educators

I am also calling on highly paid educational administrators to take a pay cut. I have been enraged to hear about the fabulous salaries that many of them make. All pay bonuses to educational administrators should be stopped immediately, and if they refuse to do this they should be dismissed! Greediness was one of the contributing factors to the collapse of our economy and frugality will help return us to prospertity. Educational administrators, if you are making over $300,000.00 a year I urge you to take a pay cut of 50%. You can certianly live on $150,000.00 a year.

Cutting the Fat

There is too much fat in state government, and it needs to be cut. I am not happy when I hear of state workers making large salaries who spend a great deal of time doing other things than that which applies to their job description. These workers need to be terminated. As a matter of fact, some state departments need to be totally deleted and those employees who remain and are highly paid should be willing to take a pay cut. I am against paying state workers $150,000.00 a year for overtime hours! What a disgrace, especially when thousands of our citizens are out of work and trying to survive on unemployment insurance. It is time for state workers to set an example by taking a pay cut to show voters that they truly care about the economy. If elected to the legislature I am willing to do this. I want to see us balance the budget. I want to see more money put back into the pockets of hardworking citizens.

The Importance of changing our system

Many voters, including myself have lost faith in our present system. It is severly broken, and there is much talk about fixing it, but the unemployment rate in California remains about the same. People can barely feed their family on the Unemployment Security check. What gets me is that while our general populace is languishing some state workers continue to receive hefty bonuses and are not willing to take a salary cut. Why not? They should be the very ones to lead the way in helping to balance our state budget. This is why I am running for fifth district assembly. I want to help bring about the necessary changes to get our state back on its feet. We must quit talking about it and do something about it! If you vote for me you will see action!
The time is now, not two years from now.

Your's for a better California,

Donald Thompson

Vote for Donald

Dear Friend:

My name is Donald Thompson, and it is my intention to run for the fifth district assembly seat of the state of California The reason for my candidacy is that I have deep concerns about the fifth district and our state. I am proud to be a repuplican.

My top priority is to remedy our awful economy. Thousands of individuals have lost their jobs, their homes, their businesses, their vehicles, and more importantly their self-worth. The system is severly broken and needs to be repaired quickly so that once again people can experience prosperity and renew their faith in themselves and state leaders.

Legislatures have failed us seeking to advance themselves rather than the concerns of their constituents. This is unacceptable. If elected to the legislature I will put the people in the fifth district first. I will do what is right regardless of the cost. I will listen to your concerns and seek to implement them. I am experienced, honest hardworking.

My goal is to create jobs, help people stay in their homes, help small business owners to survive and improve the educational system from a below average rating to an "A" rating.

I am not a professional politician, and to tell you the truth, I do not believe most voters wish to elect professional politicians. It is time to make a clean sweep of the legislature, and put people in
who truly care about their constituents rather than their own survival. That is what I am all about.

I am interested in starting a grassroots movement, and if you are interested in climbing aboard you are welcome. Please examine my platform, and then I would appreciate your feedback and suggestions. I will listen to all comments and respond. If you wish to help with my campaign or make a donation, please contact me.

Let us unite together for a new California!

Donald Thompson, Candidate
Fifth District Assembly
